What’s the first thing a lot of you add to your truck? Tires, big tires and wheels and maybe some new gears to turn those monsters. If you get everything mounted and take off down the road, you may notice something funny, your speedometer isn’t right, in fact it may be way off. The factory sets up your speedometer to read accurately with a particular combination of tire size and gearing, change anything and you’re ready for a nice speeding ticket plus your mileage is way off. Not surprising is your engine control computer needs accurate information to work correctly, too, the transmission needs to know shift points plus those antilock brakes use the info, as well. You could go and get everything recalibrated but suppose you have a set of winter tires and summer tires or maybe a set for shows. Unless you can do it yourself, you’re going to be off at least some of the time. But now, you’re in luck.
Since the computer in your truck needs all of that information it just makes sense that an electronic plug in module can adjust and recalibrate the information the computer gets and that’s what the
TruSpeed Speed Sensor Recalibrator does. It connects in-line with the factory speed sensor and recalculates the signal so everything that depends on the information will get it right. Your speedometer will be correct but so will everything else, your transmission, the anti lock brakes, everything.
The TruSpeed can have two sets of numbers stored so if you swap tires for a show or snow, just flip a switch and you’re reset for the new size. If you get new tires or change the gearing later, you can change the settings again, no matter how many times you install something different.
Electronics and computers in your truck actually make things easier if you just have the right accessory to connect and adjust. The TruSpeed Speed Sensor Recalibrator makes it easy.
